Three days meeting with with some of the best single and multifamily residential builders in the country. The EcoSmart crew met some great people and learned some new insights on what high performance builders are looking for to be able to build the house of the future today.

Updates from the Department of Energy on the number of Energy Star Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH) built across the US and it’s encouraging! The amount of ZERH homes built doubled in 1 year! I have written about this before in the Flip the Script blog post. If this trend continues and accelerates it will be a momentous change in the residential construction industry.

Many larger new home builders across the US are pledging to have all their homes built to ZERH standards in the next couple of years.  The EcoSmart™ Stud is going to play a vital role in this change!

Daikin and Rheem gave presentations on the advancements in heat pump technologies for water heaters and space heating/cooling. I’ll be using Rheem water heaters as examples in the ZERH Build Series.  Heat pump systems are going to play a vital role in residential construction.
