One of the many benefits of using the EcoSmart™Stud is that the slots (thermal breaks) in the studs serve as a pathway to run electrical wires. For electricians, drilling holes in studs takes a lot of time, its a big pain point of the electrical pre-wire. The EcoSmart™ Stud slots can save electricians 3-5 hours of drilling time for the average size home. We are waiting to see what the electrician estimates their time savings with this custom home. As you can see from the pictures, they had predrilled pathways even around the corners, which are some of the hardest areas to get a drill to.

The 1″ slot is large enough to run water supply lines through, and with the 1 to 2 inches of spray foam between the supply lines and the outside wall, the possibility of freezing during a cold snap drops dramatically.

It usually looks like a group of angry beavers showed up and had a party. Not at this home! All the wood in the slots (thermal breaks) was taken out at our production facility and was used for animal bedding. This saves clean-up time for the contractor and saves wasted wood in the dumpster that can be used for other products.
