New Build In Minneapolis!

Icon Homes has started it’s first build with EcoSmart Studs. This 2 story home is built on a reclaimed lot and features other energy efficient upgrades besides EcoSmart™ Studs. The foundation is built with ICF’s, Insulated Concrete Forms.

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF)

Insulated Concrete Forms are foam blocks with a hollow middle that contains a plastic or metal web, which holds the form together. Concrete, along with any needed rebar, is installed in the hollow area after the blocks are stacked together. Since the concrete is trapped between two insulating panels, it becomes a thermal mass which aids in regulating temperature extremes.
