A New Step Toward Efficient Energy Homes
While it may seem like a simple part swap, using EcoSmart™ Studs plays a big role in creating a more efficient energy home. Every early build helps demonstrate how our studs make a difference in residential construction.
EcoSmart™ Studs for Energy Efficiency
This upcoming project, located just north of Spokane, WA, is scheduled to break ground in the next few weeks. The homeowner and architect are focused and committed to designing an efficient energy home and they may even be targeting a certified Net Zero Home. We’re proud to support this type of forward-thinking build.
Our 2×8 EcoSmart™ Stud will be used for the wall framing, helping to minimize thermal bridging, increase R-values, and support a strong, energy-saving thermal envelope. These benefits are key in any Net Zero home design, where every component of the building envelope contributes to lower energy consumption.
Why EcoSmart™ Studs Matter in Net Zero Construction
To create a Net Zero home, builders must reduce the home’s energy demand to the lowest possible level before adding renewable energy. Using EcoSmart™ Studs is one of the most affordable ways to improve the energy performance of the wall assembly. With better insulation performance and lower air infiltration, our studs help keep heat in during winter and out during summer.
Open House Coming Soon
Once the framing is complete, we’ll be hosting an open house at the Spokane-area site. It’s a great chance to walk through an efficient energy home that’s using EcoSmart™ Studs and get a real-world look at the framing process.
We’re also supporting another upcoming project in Colorado. Framing is wrapping up on that home as well, and we’ll host an open house just north of Denver following the EEBA training on May 8–9. We hope to see you there on Friday, May 10!
Join the Net Zero Movement
Whether you’re a builder, architect, or homeowner, now is the time to prioritize efficient building strategies. EcoSmart™ Studs make it easier to build Net Zero homes that save energy, lower costs, and support a greener future.
